CPHR CPD Hours: 3.0
While many professionals are familiar with the types of overt actions that are intentionally discriminatory, a larger and more subtle issue is lurking beneath the surface - our implicit (unconscious) biases. Embedded within each of us, and regardless of professional occupation, we have biases which influence our judgments and decisions. An awareness of our unconscious bias invites us to fundamentally rethink the way we approach Talent Management, Strategic Decision making, Inclusion and Organizational Culture on a number of different levels.
This session is the next logical step for those who are seeking to delve beyond traditional diversity training.
The feedback for the Busting Bias Program has been overwhelmingly positive so we recommend reserving your seat early!
- Learn about the different types of biases and how they are formed
- Recognize how our implicit biases can lead to micro inequities and how this affects workplace interactions, performance and retention
- Learn about the research and impact of bias on the 5Ps (Posting, Pay, Performance, Promotion, and Position)
- Cultivate new skills to affect change in decision making by learning about the Anti-Bias Decision Making Framework
This highly interactive and experimental workshop equips participants with knowledge, skills and an understanding of how to guard against unconscious bias. This half-day program is aimed at anyone whose role and decisions can have an impact on others. The session will focus on organizational as well as individual application and benefits.
