The Duty to Accommodate is now a well-established legal principle in Canadian Employment Law. The Courts, Arbitrators and Adjudicators are applying the duty to accommodate in a wide range of circumstances that has resulted in an expansion of the duty. This webinar will discuss the current state of the law as it continues to evolve.

Carman Overholt, QC, Overholt Law, practice is working closely with senior management and human resources professionals to ensure compliance with labour, employment and human rights legislation, and development of policies and strategies that minimize the risk of litigation and disruption of operations. He has appeared, on behalf of employers, before the Supreme Court of BC, the Court of Appeal for BC, the BC Human Rights Tribunal, the Employment Standards Tribunal, the BC Labour Relations Board and the Canadian Industrial Relations Board.
Carman has represented employers in numerous labour arbitration proceedings and in connection with collective bargaining. He has significant experience in advising employers in various sectors of the economy including financial services, technology, retail, service, hospitality, construction, mining, forestry and manufacturing.

The registration deadline is December 1, 2017 at 12 noon. Please note that registrations are not possible after online registration has closed.

Payment is due within 30 days of registration or by the registration deadline of December 1, 2017 (whichever is earlier). Payments may be made conveniently online by Visa/Mastercard at the time of registration or by cheque received by the registration deadline. Cheques must be received within 30 days of registration or by December 1 (whichever is earlier) by CPHR Nova Scotia at 84 Chain Lake Drive, Suite 103, Halifax, NS B3S 1A2. Registrations November 25th or later must be paid by Visa/MC at time of registration.
If paying online by Visa or Mastercard, you must have the billing address exactly as it appears on the credit card statement or the transaction will be declined. This is a security feature for your protection.
A full refund, less a $40+HST processing fee, will be issued for cancellations received in writing by November 20th at 12:00 noon. Those who make reservations and do not attend will still be required to pay for the full session fee. Cancellations received by CPHR Nova Scotia in writing by 12 noon on November 20, 2017 will only be charged the processing fee. Substitutions are permitted if received by December 1, 2017 at 12:00 noon (for substitutions, the registrant must advise our office of their replacement in writing by 12:00 noon on December 1, including the full name, email and phone number of the substitution). Member/non-member rates will be applied to the substitutions. This cancellation policy applies regardless of date of registration. Registrations after the cancellation deadline are non-refundable.
