As an HR professional working in a dynamic environment, you engage with and support others through conflict on a regular basis. This webinar will assist participants to improve their dispute resolution skills to address workplace conflicts with confidence and proficiency. An emphasis will be placed on furthering your understanding of Alternative Dispute Resolution and its relevance to Human Resources Management.
In this session, participants will learn:

- Understand the importance of recognizing and addressing conflict in the workplace;

- Understand the benefits of completing the ADRIC National Mediation Course to enhance your ADR competencies.

Human Resources practitioners working in a generalist type role or in a position where they are supporting managers and/or employees in workplace conflict.
Brenda Hopper is a Chartered Mediator (C.Med), facilitator, coach and trainer specializing in the area of communication and conflict management. As the owner of her private consulting practice, Brenda has had the pleasure of assisting executives, managers, supervisors, and their teams develop skills to create supportive and productive relationships. Certified as a coach in Conversational Intelligence (C-IQ) and a trainer in Strengths Deployment Inventory (SDI), Brenda blends the latest social & neuroscience research into her training and coaching programs as a means to help individuals, work teams, and organizations understand how to positively impact the work culture and relationships.
Over the past 18 years, Brenda's passion for all things "Dispute Resolution" has enabled her to obtain national and international designations and certifications in mediation, communication, coaching, and training.
Brenda served as a Director and on the Executive of ADR Institute of British Columbia for six years and currently serves on the provincial and national Mediation Education Committees. She is a national trainer & coach for the ADR Institute of Canada's Introductory Mediation Course.
Brin Hamilton is a conflict consultant, mediator arbitrator (Q.Arb.), facilitator, human resources professional (CPHR), and the owner of Vancouver-based Ahimsa Mediation & Consulting. Brin is passionate about helping others navigate conflict through effective communication and alternate dispute resolution. Her work has evolved from years of professional experiences in HR management in a health context.
Brin is an Associate Faculty member at Royal Roads University in the School of Humanitarian Studies. Additional, she teaches conflict resolution and anger management in a community setting to build capacity of individuals to deal with challenging situations. She is actively conducting applied research in the fields of conflict management, leadership, and workplace health and safety. Both her research and practice is focussed on supporting thriving workplaces and organizations. Brin has a B Comm from the University of Saskatchewan, with a major in Human Resources Management, and a Masters of Arts in Conflict Analysis and Management from Royal Roads University. Brin currently serves as Vice-President and Secretary at the ADR Institute of British Columbia Board of Directors.

The registration deadline is 12 noon on Thursday, May 24, 2018. Please note that registrations are not possible after online registration has closed.

Payment is due within 30 days of registration or by the registration deadline of May 24, 2018 (whichever is earlier). Payments may be made conveniently online by Visa/Mastercard at the time of registration or by cheque received by the registration deadline. Cheques must be received within 30 days of registration or by May 24(whichever is earlier) by CPHR Nova Scotia at 84 Chain Lake Drive, Suite 103, Halifax, NS B3S 1A2. Registrations May 15 or later must be paid by Visa/MC at time of registration.
If paying online by Visa or Mastercard, you must have the billing address exactly as it appears on the credit card statement or the transaction will be declined. This is a security feature for your protection.
A full refund, less a $40+HST processing fee, will be issued for cancellations received in writing by May 17th at 12:00 noon. Those who make reservations and do not attend will still be required to pay for the full session fee. Cancellations received by CPHR Nova Scotia in writing by 12 noon on May 17, 2018 will only be charged the processing fee. Substitutions are permitted if received by May 24th at 12:00 noon (for substitutions, the registrant must advise our office of their replacement in writing by 12 noon on May 24th including the full name, email and phone number of the substitution). Member/non-member rates will be applied to the substitutions. This cancellation policy applies regardless of date of registration. Registrations after the cancellation deadline are non-refundable.
