CPHR CPD: 2
The employment relationship is supposed to be simple and straight-forward: An employer provides wages and other benefits, and the employee attends work regularly and performs his or her duties. However, poor attendance and excessive absenteeism can impact on the employment relationship in significant ways. Employers who proactively and appropriately target these issues are going to see better productivity and less time lost due to absenteeism.
This session will provide participants with an overview of their obligations as an employer with respect to addressing attendance issues, and will give participants tools to address and resolve attendance related problems.
- Identify attendance problems
- Learn about different types of absences (Culpable vs. Non-Culpable)
- Learn 'best practices' on how to address attendance related problems.
- Become aware of common mistakes and pitfalls in dealing with attendance issues
