Thank you for your interest in registering for the National Knowledge Exam (NKE) taking place on November 1, 2019.

* NKE Update - Computer Based Testing
CPHR Canada recently decided to make the switch to computer based testing for the National Knowledge Exam. Computer based testing is exactly what it sounds like - writers will complete the exam using computers rather than pencil and paper. Starting for the fall 2019 exam session, exams will now be held at testing centres and will be available with two time options on each day.
With the switch, there does come an increased cost. The organization that delivers the computer based exam charges a seat fee of $125. CPHR Nova Scotia has absorbed that amount into the the exam registration fee meaning that the exam fee is now $525. By combining registration costs, CPHR Nova Scotia saves registrants a small secondary charge they would pay if they registered directly with the exam administrator. Registering and paying only once makes the registration process more streamlined and simple as well.
For general information on the National Knowledge Exam, visit the NKE section of our website (under CPHR in the main menu).

Only current members of the Association may register to write the exam. If you are planning to write the NKE exam and are not yet a member, please visit the Member area of this website and apply online, with payment, by Monday, August 19, 2019. Once your membership application has been reviewed (within 7 business days of receipt of payment), you will then have access to register for the exam online.
How To Register:
In order to register for the exam, members must log into this website first using their own username and password. Once logged in, members may register themselves for the exam by selecting the Register for this Event link that will appear on this page after they have logged in.
Only personal registrations are permitted. Others may not register you on your behalf.
Registrations completed August 20 or later must be paid with Visa/Mastercard at the time of registration.
The registration deadline is September 3, 2019. Late registrations are not permitted regardless of circumstance.
* Please note that when registering and selecting your preferred date and time, that it is your preferred time and date and not guaranteed.
When you register, you may select your preferred location in Nova Scotia to write the exam. Exam locations will be confirmed with writers in the official exam registration confirmation before the end of October and are based on demand.
Should a member be interested in writing in a location that does not have sufficient other interest, there may be an opportunity for the member to write in that location (at their own expense). There is usually sufficient demand for an exam sitting in Halifax. Other locations have varied.
Out of province writing is sometimes possible for those that may be traveling on the date of the exam (for locations that are already hosting the NKE exam). However, the request must be made at time of registration (we will review the request and advise by the end of September if it is possible). If the member is living/working in the other province and not Nova Scotia, they should be registering to write the exam in that province as the CPHR is pursued provincially.
Full payment must be received online at the time of registration (Visa/MC) or by cheque mailed to CPHR Nova Scotia and received by Tuesday, September 3, 2019.
If paying by credit card (Visa/MC), you will be required to enter the billing address exactly as it appears on the credit card statement or the transaction will be declined. This is a safety feature for your protection. Please ensure that you have the address that appears on the credit card statement before attempting to pay online.
Cancellations received in writing by 12:00 noon on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 will incur a $75 plus HST processing fee. Cancellations after that time are not possible, as the deferral policy then applies.
Exam Cancellation and Deferral Policy:
By registering for the exam, you confirm that you have read and agree to the CPHR Nova Scotia Exam Cancellation and Deferral Policy.
