Honourary Membership may be conferred on a person who has made outstanding contributions to the field of human resources or to the Association. 

 
Nominees must have made the outstanding contribution in Nova Scotia and have:
  • Made a contribution that had a wide-reaching impact in the human resources and/or labour relations community over a significant period of time, or
  • Made a contribution that had a significant impact on the legislative framework of human resources or labour relations in Nova Scotia, or
  • Made a contribution that had significant impact on the educational framework of human resources or labour relations in Nova Scotia, or
  • Made a contribution that resulted in significant strategic gains for CPHR Nova Scotia
Nomination Process:
  • A letter of recommendation is to be submitted by a current CPHR Nova Scotia member in good standing;
  • The letter of recommendation is to include a summary of how the nominated individual has met one or more of the above criteria;
  • The nomination must be supported by three (3) letters of support from current CPHR Nova Scotia members in good standing;
  • Self-nominations cannot be made for Honourary Members;
  • Nominations must be received by 12:00 noon on Friday, November 1, 2019.
Selection Process:
  • The Board of Directors reviews nominations and determines if Honourary Membership will be conferred.
  • The decision of the Board of Directors is final.
  • The Board is not required to confer an Honourary Membership each year.
  • One award may be presented each year. 
 
If conferred, the recipient must attend and will be honoured at the 2020 Awards and Recognition Event and profiled on the CPHR Nova Scotia website. Honourary members are exempt from having to pay annual membership dues and will receive the following:
  • Public recognition at the 2020 Awards and Recognition Event (within the 2020 CPHR Nova Scotia Conference) 
  • Recognition in the CPHR Nova Scotia eNewsletter
  • Honourary Membership with CPHR Nova Scotia (does not include Chartered level dues)
