Workplace Cultures of Inclusion Part B

The session will enhance the capacity of service provides to respond to their diverse client base and colleagues with increased cultural competency. Participants will explore their own power and agency, recognize the manner in which culture impacts our individual and institutional behaviours and decision-making, and develop action plans which will move them towards commitment and action in advancing an inclusive working environment which invites and retains diversity. 

Speaker: Shakira Weatherdon, a respected trainer with nearly a decade of experience in sexualized violence, equity and inclusion. She provides provide subject matter expertise and leads the implementation of equity-related programs and services at Nova Scotia Community College as the Equity and Inclusion Consultant. Shakira received her MA in Gender and Peacebuilding from the United Nations mandated University for Peace and her Honors Bachelor of Arts in Gender and Development Studies from the University of Toronto
