CPHR Nova Scotia recognizes the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM‑CP) and SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM‑SCP) designations as equivalent credentials for the purposes of admission to the CPHR designation, subject to meeting all other eligibility requirements.

At this time, the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) has placed an indefinite pause on recognizing the CPHR designation toward SHRM‑CP or SHRM‑SCP certification while it undertakes a comprehensive review and overhaul of its competency framework. SHRM has not indicated when, or if, this pathway will reopen.

CPHR Nova Scotia continues to honour SHRM‑CP and SHRM‑SCP designations as equivalent to the CPHR designation during this period.

Do you have the SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP and would like to pursue the CPHR?

To have either recognized as a CPHR:

• Obtain chartered membership with CPHR Nova Scotia

• Request SHRM send confirmation of your designation details to our office
