Mutual recognition is an agreement between different jurisdictions to acknowledge and accept each other's professional qualifications. This means that if you hold a CPHR-equivalent designation from another jurisdiction that has a Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) with CPHR Nova Scotia or CPHR Canada, your designation will be recognized as meeting the standards required for the CPHR designation in Nova Scotia or Canada. To satisfy this requirement CPHR does a formal review process with an external vendor who needs to deem our requirements to be "substantially similar." This process facilitates the mobility of HR professionals across different regions and ensures that their qualifications are respected and acknowledged. Below are the jurisdictions that have an MRA with CPHR Nova Scotia or CPHR Canada where you can be recognized as a CPHR or have your CPHR recognized:
