Becoming a Member
What are the benefits of being a CPHR Nova Scotia member?

Do I have to be an HR professional to join?
No. Our membership includes professionals from a wide range of disciplines including HR, consulting, law, education, and more. See more about membership options HERE.
 
How do I sign up?
To sign up for membership, click HERE.
 Approval typically takes 1–2 business days.
Tip: Create your profile first, then complete payment to speed up approval.
 
Can my employer pay for my membership?
Yes. Select "Bill Me" at checkout to receive an invoice via email.

Is there a student discount?
Yes. Students enrolled in a program can apply for a reduced membership rate.
 
What counts as proof of enrolment?
  • Transcript
  • Enrollment letter
  • Course schedule
All documentation must include your name as well as the program and course details.
 
Do I need to be a member to attend events?
No, you do not have to be a member, however, members receive discounts in the form of member pricing on our events, workshops and webinars. 
 
Do you offer HR consulting?
No, CPHR Nova Scotia does not offer consulting services or HR advice to its members. The CPHR Nova Scotia Consultant Directory connects organizations with experienced HR professionals offering a wide range of consulting services - from workplace strategy and policy development to recruitment, employee relations, and more.  
Maintaining Your Membership
When does my membership renew?
Our membership year runs September 1 to August 31. 
 
How do I renew?
Log in and access your open invoice from your dashboard.
 
How do I update my profile?
Go to My Profile after logging in.
 
Where can I find my CPHR Nova Scotia payment invoices?
You can renew your membership by logging in to your account and scrolling to find the open invoice in your dashboard. Invoices can also be found by clicking the down arrow by the welcome icon. 
 
Can I transfer my membership?
Memberships are not transferable. However, your CPHR Candidate Status or CPHR Designation can be transferred to your membership with another provincial association. 
 
Can memberships be reassigned to another employee?
No. Memberships are tied to individuals.
 
Can you verify members externally?
CPHR Nova Scotia does not give out information about its members. Members have access to each other's contact information via the online member directory. 
 
Do I need to maintain membership to keep my designation?
