Business Acumen: What’s on Atlantic Canadians’ Minds?

What’s the most important issue we face? Where does consumer confidence sit and why? How do we feel about debt and our personal finances? What do we think about important issues such as climate change and immigration? Based on over 20,000 interviews with Atlantic Canadians, Margaret Chapman will outline the social, economic and political climate of the region.

Margaret has worked as a consultant since 1999, specializing in group facilitation, in-depth interviewing, marketing and communications. She has wide-ranging experience with the financial, mining, communications, utility, food and drink, pharmaceutical, not-for-profit and public sectors. As a seasoned moderator, her areas of specialty include conducting focus groups and in-depth interviews related to advertising and communications evaluation, website usability, concept testing and brainstorming. She has pioneered an innovative qualitative research tool, Netfocus, which incorporates simultaneous online and verbal methodologies.

Bringing More Heart and Soul to the Way We Work

Colette O’Hara believes in leading with heart and humanity, but

she’s often found herself at odds with the modern working world where we’ve been taught to be tough, thick-skinned and strong-spined. In this talk, she explores why bringing more heart, soul and love to the way we work is important and offers up simple principles that anyone can experiment with in their working lives. A spirited leader, Colette uses design thinking, communication and creativity to inspire trans-formative growth among teams and organizations.
