Session Topic:
Many employee groups have Labour-Management Committees (LMCs) in their workplaces, or other committees with joint (union and management) participation. When operating at their full capacity LMCs can provide a valuable forum for sharing information, discussing pertinent issues, and solving workplace problems. However, many LMC’s suffer from high turnover, attendance challenges, and other critical issues. This workshop will cover best practices that can help your LMC unlock it’s potential.

About the Facilitator
Lindsey Hewitt, Relationship Education and Awareness Officer
CMS hired Lindsey Hewitt for their newly created Relationship, Education, and Awareness Officer position in 2016. In this role, she focuses on increasing awareness of CMS, developing and facilitating workshops, and mediating workplace conflicts and grievances. Prior to joining CMS, Lindsey owned her own consulting company in St. John’s, NL, completing work in the oil and gas, agriculture, and not-for-profit sectors, in areas such as facilitation, project management, evaluation, and event planning. She has an MBA, a BBA, a Teaching Certificate, a Certificate in Economic Development, and a Certificate in Conflict Resolution.
When she is not working, Lindsey can be found hiking, biking, paddling, or cross-country skiing, often with her dogs Lola and Ollie in tow.
