Session Topic

When you are under stress, it can impact how you think, how you see yourself, how you work and how you connect with others. Prior to the pandemic, mental illness cost the economy roughly $15 billion USD annually. Stress alone was identified by 72% of employees as a leading cause of mental health problems and was the reason one in four employees left their job.

The COVID-19 Pandemic has placed additional stress on individuals, organizations and families. It has forced changes and created uncertainty that extends beyond the workplace. It’s affected life at home, threatened physical health and financial stability, has disrupted community and impacted relationships.

In this workshop, you will learn to differentiate between mental illness, mental health and wellbeing. Learn to use an evidence-based framework to assess, monitor and improve your wellbeing in the 5 areas of life, essential to the mental health of all people across race, sex, gender, culture and spiritual orientation.

Become aware of common mental traps that lead to anxiety and depression, as well as strategies to manage change, stress and uncertainty. Most importantly, learn strategies grounded in mindfulness and self-compassion research that can empower you to take charge of your wellbeing, achieve your goals and attend to your deepest needs.
