About the Speaker

Paul Theriault recently retired from NB Power as Vice President of Human Resources and Corporate Communications. While in this role, he introduced innovative and daring programs that led to amazing results. In addition he developed a First Nation Strategy. His HR Strategy was the catalyst for NB Power to be the recipient of Canadas Top 100 employers for 4 successive years, the National Quality Institute Award for excellence for a Healthy Workplace and the Canadian Psychological Association (NS Chapter) Psychologically Healthy Workplace Award for Excellence in Employee Health and Safety.

Prior to that, he was the Director of Human Resources for the NB Department of Transportation. While with the Department of Transportation, he introduced the NB Public Service to Employee and Family Assistance programs.

He has been the recipient of various National and Provincial awards. These include the IPMAs Presidents Award for excellence in Human Resource Management in Canada, IPMA NBs award of distinction and Chapter Honorary Life Membership. He was also awarded the Whos Who in Healthcare Canada 2002 by the Health Care Manager Magazine.
