This short 3-part series is designed to provide busy HR professionals with bite size learning based on the CPHR Competency Framework. Each part will cover 3 of the 9 HR Specific Competency Areas within the Framework. Human resources competencies are essential for HR professionals to effectively contribute to the success of an organization. These competencies are critical for various purposes, playing a crucial role in managing the workforce and fostering a positive work environment. "Series Part 2" Speaker & Topic Highlights Topic: Inclusion, Diversity and Human Connections Speaker: Tanya Ponnan, CPHR, Diversity and Inclusion Specialist, Immigrant Services Society of BC Topic: Key Considerations in Navigating Mental Health in the Workplace Speaker: Paul Griggs, Clinical Director And Founder, Q2 Workplace Wellness About the Presenters Paul Griggs Paul is a Registered Clinical Counsellor who specializes in workplace mental health for leadership, management, people & culture professionals, and employees. Prior to clinical counselling, he worked in executive leadership positions for over 20 years, as both a founder and CEO for a private start up and as a Vice President for a publicly traded company with global revenues of $7B and over 11,000 employees. Paul holds a Master of Counselling, Counselling Psychology from City University of Seattle (United States). Tanya Ponnan Tanya Ponnan (she/her) is a CPHR professional with over 20 years of HR experience, coupled with NGO international development, and post-secondary educational work locally and internationally. As a coach, mentor, change management, intercultural development inventory assessor, and emotional intelligence practitioner, Tanya utilizes her HR experience to assist organizations, educational institutions, and civic communities to implement diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) strategies towards engaging our ever-growing workplaces. Tanya holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Master of Arts, Global Leadership from Royal Roads University with her research focused on inclusion programs. Her research was shared at the International Leadership Association’s virtual DEI summit in 2021. She is an active board member with the Canadian Forces Liaison Council (CFLC), BC Division, Justice Institute of BC (JIBC) Foundation and LaSalle College Vancouver. In her free time, she has taken up pottery by creating her own plates and bowls. All login information will be sent to you via email the day prior to the session.
