Description

Awareness of menopause and perimenopause is necessary for fostering a supportive workplace. Join us with our guest speaker, Darlene Mulcahey as we delve into women's experiences with peri-menopause and menopause in the workplace, and discover effective support strategies that HR can implement.

About the Presenter

Darlene (she/her) started her career in the private sector where she gained 20 years of experience before joining the federal public service in 2008.

As an acting Senior Program Advisor at the Canada Border Services Agency, Darlene is responsible for providing support services to ensure that service delivery at ports of entry is effective and efficient.

Darlene was one of the first public servants to disclose that she lives well with mental illness through a Toddcast and has since built a reputation as a mental health advocate by sharing her story as a Federal Speakers’ Forum on Lived Experience speaker and her blog A Day in the Life of Darlene.

She has also self-declared as the first unofficial GC MC (Government of Canada Menopause Champion) and founded My Menopause at Work : GCcollab, a one-stop shop that provides peer support and resources for the menopause transition. Darlene was recently featured in the CBC National News and the report Menopause and Work in Canada.
