The presentation will define the dynamics at play that could maintain, or distort, the critical balance required from both management and non-management employees to maintain optimum organizational functioning. The presentation, using case studies, will also illustrate the damage that can result from a lack of balance.
About the Speaker:
Mike Dumphy's public and private sector career required an in-depth involvement with organizations ranging from transportation, health care, defence, and public safety, education, and manufacturing. Mike's focus has been in the workplace rights field, initially on the governmental regulatory side and evolving to a consulting role in assisting organizations in developing workplace cultures that include rights, safety, engagement, capacity and mission clarity.
Mike was the recipient of one of the first Chief Commissioners Commendations as an investigator with the Canadian Human Rights Commission. He has presented on a number of topics relating to organizational effectiveness, including management and union communication, managing workplace conflict, duty to accommodate, maintaining professional and respectful workplaces, and workplace assessments.
