Building the Next Generation of TalentShips aside - with our current economic and political climate, Nova Scotians are right to be concerned about the future. Our economy is heavily dependent on government and multi-national employers in globally competitive industries. As our population ages, as we lose jobs in traditional industries, and as government budgets shrink we need to develop a new generation of entrepreneurs, innovators, and exporters to build a sustainable, local base of strength. We also need to develop new centres of excellence that draw on our research, academic and natural strengths. This requires vision, investment, net immigration and loads of creative collaboration. Without it, we will fall further behind as a have-not province and net exporter of talent.
This session will provoke thought, encourage sharing, and spark dialogue around two key questions:
- What three things could we do to inspire/develop our students, employees and organizations to be more innovative, entrepreneurial and global in their thinking?
- What indicators or measures should we focus on to set the appropriate targets and track results?
If you are passionate about talent and the future of our region please attend, participate and share your ideas at this session.
