Examining Frameworks and Proactive Strategies to Workplace Bullying

Workplace bullying is costing organizations millions each year in terms of loss of productivity, legal settlements, and loss of good employees who have been bullied and chose to leave the organization.

The development of psychological healthy workplace frameworks help to guide and support organizations in terms of proactive approaches to creating environments less prone to such outcomes as workplace bullying.

In this session, we will examine:

  • The building blocks to psychological healthy workplaces.
  • The current Canadian landscape of workplace bullying cases.
  • Strategies and considerations for developing proactive approaches in your workplace

 

About the Speakers

Dr. Wendy R. Carroll, Associate Professor HR and Management, Director Workforce Strategies Research Group, University of Prince Edward Island, School of Business

Dr. Wendy Carrollis an Associate Professor Human Resource Management and Management and the Director of the Workforce Strategies Research Group at the University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI), School of Business. After a 20 year career working in national and multinational businesses as a senior leader and executive, Wendy completed her Ph.D. in HR and management and has taught over the past eight years at Atlantic Canada Universities, including Saint Mary’s University, Acadia University, and now UPEI.Wendy teaches and researches in the area of human resource management, management (negotiations and leadership), evidence-based management, and workforce strategies.Wendy is also the Founder and Faculty Director of the UPEI Workforce Strategies Research Group which focuses on labour and workforce dynamics in Atlantic Canada. She has won research awards for best papers, including a Highly Commended Paper Award by the Emerald Literati Network in 2011 - Awards for Excellence, and several teaching awards, including Graduate Faculty member of the year for UPEI in 2008 and 2009, as well as the Hessian Merit Award of Teaching Excellence in 2011.

Payment Terms

Payment is due by Tuesday, November 6, 2012.  Registrations after that date must be made by credit card online with registration.  Payments can be made online by credit card at the time of registration or by cheque. Cheques must be received by the registration deadline by HRANS at 84 Chain Lake Drive, Suite 103, Halifax, NS B3S 1A2.

 

Cancellation Policy

Those who make reservations and do not attend will be required to pay the full registration fee. Cancellations received prior to noon on Friday, November 2, 2012 will not be required to pay the registration fee. Refunds are only available if received in writing prior to noon on Friday, November 2, 2012. Substitutions are permitted up to the day of the event. Member/non-member rates will be applied. This cancellation policy applies regardless of date of registration.
