Evidenced-based Management is a family of approaches to management practice that was inspired by evidence-based medicine.

Evidence-based management has grown and developed over the past number of years to include some distinctive features, including the use of validated external evidence, consideration of manager's judgement and experience, incorporation of local evidence, and appreciation of effects of management decisions on stakeholder groups.

This session will also include an opportunity to discuss and practice the application of Evidence-based Management.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand key features of evidence-based management
  • Apply evidence-based management to practical problems including problem identification, analysis, and actionable recommendation
  • Appreciate problems and difficulties associated with practicing evidence-based management
  • Develop working principles to guide future practice
