Guest Speaker: Buzz Hargrove

Given the increasing pressures on workplaces, including benefits and pension plans, all stakeholders must work together to find solutions. People and businesses have recognized the need to make changes.
Buzz Hargrove, former national president of the Canadian Auto Workers Association, was at the forefront of fundamental changes in the auto industry. From his extensive experience, he will speak on the issues of concern to unions and companies, for example, funding DB plans vs DC plans, as well as other types of plans including expanding public pension plans (CPP). He will share his views on the future of health care benefit plans covering retirees and active employees. Mr. Hargrove will also examine the current state of labour management relations and its impact on the long term competitiveness of Canada.
