After years of slack hiring, the competition for top performers and technical talent will increase over the next year in many industries to the point where current recruiting resources and tools will be stretched to the limit. Aggressiveness, the need for counteroffers, higher rejection rates, and a renewed focus on recruiting the currently employed will all return to prominence. As a result of this increased competition, executives will begin to put pressure on recruiting to produce new recruiting approaches that provide them with a competitive talent advantage. HR professionals will begin to see some marked improvements from software providers. About the Presenter
Marilyn Kalman is an entrepreneur with a wealth of business experience. In addition to working for private and public companies, she has also been the Managing Director and major shareholder of a diverse range of businesses over the last nineteen years. Ms. Kalman is the Business Development Manager and major shareholder of HireGround Software Solutions, a Calgary-based online job board and applicant-tracking system focusing on the needs of employers and job seekers in Western Canadian industries. In addition to addressing the development of new business opportunities, she oversees HireGround's general management functions. Ms. Kalman, an MBA graduate from the University of Calgary, was also the backbone of development and start up behind the annual Convergence IT Conference and Expo, a career fair catering to the staffing and employment needs of IT professionals. Experience and Publications: Ms. Kalman holds an MBA from the University of Calgary. She has published many white papers on approaches to Recruitment and Applicant Tracking, along with presenting on these topics. Her passion lies in looking at the most current methods that are utilized in recruitment.

Payments may be made conveniently online by Visa/Mastercard at the time of registration or by cheque received by the registration deadline. Cheques must be received by the registration deadline (August 13) by HRANS at 84 Chain Lake Drive, Suite 103, Halifax, NS B3S 1A2. Registrations August 1st or later must be paid by Visa/MC at time of registration. If paying online by Visa or Mastercard, you must have the billing address exactly as it appears on the credit card statement or the transaction will be declined. This is a security feature for your protection. Cancellation Policy A full refund, less a $25+HST administration fee, will be issued for cancellations received in writing prior to Thursday, August 7, 2014 at 12:00noon. Those who make reservations and do not attend will still be required to pay for the full session fee. Cancellations received by HRANS in writing prior to noon on Thursday, August 7, 2014 will only be charged the administration fee. Substitutions are permitted if received by August 18 at 12 noon (for substitutions, the registrant must advise our office of their replacement in writing by 12 noon on August 18th including the full name, email and phone number of the substitution). Member/non-member rates will be applied to the substitutions. This cancellation policy applies regardless of date of registration. Registrations after the cancellation deadline are non-refundable.
