Program Summary:  To gain an understanding of what Document Management is and how to translate requirements of an organization into a functional resource that fulfills those actual needs.

Before you can understand what job description and level of experience you need to search for, understanding what you need the resource to do is critical.  Hiring the right person for the role will not only ensure employer satisfaction, but it will also reduce costs of hiring the wrong person.

There are many as-of-yet undefined positions within Document Management and this seminar will provide clarity and direction on what, who, and how.

  • The questions you need to ask to define the resource requirements
  • Translate those requirements into a job description
  • Understand what to look for in a candidate
  • Gain the ability to intelligently suggest alternatives to what you have been asked
  • Learn how by doing this you are reducing costs and increasing trust and effectiveness


About the Presenter
Bernadette Bosse, President and CEO, dms360 Ltd. Document Management Specialists, an immigrant from South Africa, brought her purchasing and estimating knowledge with her and began building a career in purchasing in Calgary, Alberta.  She worked for years in inventory control, purchasing, expediting, and project estimation.  There came a time when the company she worked for asked her to build a Document Control department.  It was at this time that she discovered that there were no written best practices or standards for this field and that there were no courses for her to attend in order to understand what exactly document control entailed.  She set out on a mission to solve this problem, and so the vision that became dms360 was born.

Emerging HR Professionals facilitating a talent review for the first time.  Hiring professionals who are responsible for translating the needs of departments or organizations that require document controllers, records clerks, or document managers at all levels.  This is focused on the engineering sector and related industries.

How to Register

IMPORTANT: Registering someone other than yourself?  If you are a member and are registering someone else to attend the event, DO NOT log into the site to register.  If the other person is a member, they must log in using their own member ID and password and register that way.  If the other person is not a member, do not log in, just register them from the public area of the website.  Registrations must be done online.

The registration deadline is 12:00 noon on Wednesday, October 22, 2014.  Please note that registrations are not possible after online registration has closed.  

Important note: both registration and payment are required for every person attending this webinar.

All log in information will be sent to registrants via email the day prior to the webinar session.

 

Payment Terms

Payment is due by the registration deadline of October 22, 2014.  Payments may be made conveniently online by Visa/Mastercard at the time of registration or by cheque received by the registration deadline.  Cheques must be received by the registration deadline (October 22) by HRANS at 84 Chain Lake Drive, Suite 103, Halifax, NS B3S 1A2.  Registrations October 8th or later must be paid by Visa/MC at time of registration.

If paying online by Visa or Mastercard, you must have the billing address exactly as it appears on the credit card statement or the transaction will be declined.  This is a security feature for your protection.

 

Cancellation Policy

A full refund, less a $25+HST administration fee, will be issued for cancellations received in writing prior to Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at 12:00noon. Those who make reservations and do not attend will still be required to pay for the full session fee.  Cancellations received by HRANS in writing prior to noon on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 will only be charged the administration fee.  Substitutions are permitted if received by October 29 at 12 noon (for substitutions, the registrant must advise our office of their replacement in writing by 12 noon on October 29th including the full name, email and phone number of the substitution).  Member/non-member rates will be applied to the substitutions.  This cancellation policy applies regardless of date of registration.  Registrations after the cancellation deadline are non-refundable.
