How often do you find yourself in a situation where you need to (or at least ought to) have a tough conversation with a colleague or direct report? Do you find it difficult to directly address concerns such as attitude, attendance, or performance? If so, you are not alone. Many managers find themselves in a position where a focussed discussion is necessary, yet they feel uneasy or ill-equipped to do so.
In this session, participants will learn the importance of addressing issues early, clearly and consistently, before they become significant concerns. Participants will explore strategies and a practical tool that will aid them in having courageous conversations with their direct reports when troublesome work habits emerge.
About the Facilitator
Carla Anglehart, VP Training and Development, Atlantic Leadership Development Institute
Carla is a dynamic, high impact keynote speaker, facilitator, and educator. She is well known for her expertise in: building high performance teams and change leadership. Carla's career highlights include VP Learning and Development at the Atlantic Leadership Development Institute, Co-founder of Career Strategies In., an Alberta based Career Development firm established in 1993, and Principal and Co-founder of Career Strategies Training Group, and Director Organizational Development with the Health Association of Nova Scotia. Carla has been supporting organizations - from the governing boards and executive teams to the front lines - to understand their roles and responsibilities, set goals, and enhance their overall effectiveness since the early 90s.

IMPORTANT: Registering someone other than yourself? If you are a member and are registering someone else to attend the event, DO NOT log into the site to register. The registration deadline is Thursday, September 10, 2015, at 12:00 noon. Please note that registrations are not possible after online registration has closed. Registration cannot be purchased at the door.
Payment Terms
Payment is due by the registration deadline which is Thursday, September 10, 2015. Payments may be made conveniently online at time of registration by Visa/Mastercard or by cheque received by the registration deadline. Cheques must be received by the registration deadline (Sept 10) by HRANS at 84 Chain Lake Drive, Suite 103, Halifax, NS B3S 1A2. Registrations September 1st or later must be paid online at time of registration.
If paying online by Visa or Mastercard, you must have the billing address exactly as it appears on the credit card statement or the transaction will be declined. This is a security feature for your protection.
Cancellation Policy
A full refund, less a $30+HST administration fee, will be issued for cancellations received in writing prior to Thursday, August 27 at 12:00noon. Those who make reservations and do not attend will be required to pay for the full session fee. Cancellations received in writing prior to 12:00 noon on Thursday, August 27, 2015 will only be charged the administration fee. Substitutions are permitted up to the business day before the event (for substitutions, the registrant must advise our office of their replacement in writing by 12 noon on September 16). Member/non-member rates will be applied to the substitutions. This cancellation policy applies regardless of date of registration. Registrations after the cancellation deadline are non-refundable.
