Join us for this informative session on Workplace Investigations.
This session will focus on how to conduct workplace investigations into allegations such as discrimination, harassment, bullying, and occupational health and safety complaints to gather relevant information, comply with legal responsibilities and adhere to best practices. Participants will also learn how to identify opportunities at each step of the investigation process to protect, restore, and even enhance workplace relationships.

About the Facilitator
Gail Gatchalian, Partner, Pink Larkin
Gail practices employment, labour, and administrative and human rights law with Pink Larkin in Halifax. Gail has particular experience in education law and appears regularly before administrative and statutory tribunals on behalf of teacher unions. Gail also acts as a third-party neutral; she is a Nova Scotia Human Rights Board of Inquiry Chair, and provides workplace investigation and mediation services. Gail is the Vice-Chair of the CBA National Labour & Employment Law Section. Gail has been on the organizing committee for the annual CBA Administrative, Labour & Employment Law Conference since 2011. She is the Chair of the CBA-Nova Scotia Branch Equity Committee. Gail is a member of the Canadian Association for Practical Study of Law in Education (CAPSLE).

The registration deadline is Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at 12:00 pm. Please note that registrations are not possible after online registration has closed. Registration cannot be purchased at the door.
Payment Terms
Payment is due by the registration deadline which is Tuesday, May 31, 2016 or within 30 days of your registration (whichever is earlier). Payments may be made conveniently online at time of registration by Visa/Mastercard or by cheque received by the registration deadline. Cheques must be received by the registration deadline (May 31) by HRANS at 84 Chain Lake Drive, Suite 103, Halifax, NS B3S 1A2. Registrations May 17th or later must be paid online at time of registration.
If paying online by Visa or Mastercard, you must have the billing address exactly as it appears on the credit card statement or the transaction will be declined. This is a security feature for your protection.
Cancellation Policy
A full refund, less a $30+HST processing fee, will be issued for cancellations received in writing prior to Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 12:00noon. Those who make reservations and do not attend will be required to pay for the full session fee. Cancellations received in writing prior to 12:00 noon on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 will only be charged the processing fee. Substitutions are permitted up to the business day before the event (for substitutions, the registrant must advise our office of their replacement in writing by 12 noon on June 6). Member/non-member rates will be applied to the substitutions. This cancellation policy applies regardless of date of registration. Registrations after the cancellation deadline are non-refundable.
