Prerequisites to Take the NKE Exam

New Requirements as Prerequisites to Take the NKE Exam starting 2021

Building from the results of the 2013 Professional Practice Analysis, we have been working collaboratively with the other member associations to introduce further enhancements to the CPHR designation. To set the bar for academic comprehension, establish a standard for educational requirements and build on credibility of the CPHR designation, CPHR Canada will be adding a new requirement that’s applicable for anyone writing the National Knowledge Exam (NKE).

The requirement is primarily for individuals who did not graduate from a CPHR Canada member association’s Post-Secondary Institution (PSI) Accreditation Program or have not covered the below courses in an equivalent program.

Individuals will be required to enroll in the nine foundational HR courses offered by CPHR Nova Scotia in partnership with Captus Press Inc. or may be eligible to transfer credits for courses that are equivalent to and recognized by a member association.

This requirement will be implemented in January 2021.

Also, as a reminder, two exam dates that will take place before this change:

  • Spring 2020
  • Fall 2020
