Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Accessibility Award

This award is given to an organization that has implemented a program integrated into the company's overall strategy that promotes inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility.

Including:

• Establishing a culture of inclusion
• Advancing truth and reconciliation
• Removing barriers and increasing accessibility
• Actualizing the full value of diversity

 

Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Accessibility Award Criteria

  • Initiative was implemented within the past five years
  • Initiative has been in operation for at least one year
  • Initiative was developed and carried out in Nova Scotia
  • Leadership Commitment and Vision: Assess the organization’s commitment to IDEA initiatives at the highest levels. Consider whether senior leadership actively champions and supports these efforts
  • Program Implementation and Impact: Evaluate the effectiveness of the organization’s IDEA program. Look at tangible outcomes and the impact on employees, customers, and the community.
  • Strategic Integration: Assess how well the program aligns with the organization’s overall strategy.
  • Sustainability: Recognize efforts that create lasting change and promote equity.
 
If selected as a recipient, nominees must:
  • Consent in writing to the nomination and publication of both name and photo in connection with the Nova Scotia Professional HR Awards.
  • Agree to complete a confidential information form that will be used to determine eligibility.
  • Provide a professional biography and photo to be used for publicity purposes in relation to the awards.
  • Be available to attend the Awards Event celebration.
 
Nominations Process
  • The nomination or letter of recommendation must come from a member in good standing with CPHR Nova.
  • Awards are open to companies in Nova Scotia.
  • Nominations must be received within the stated nomination period.
  • Nominations must have the expressed consent of the nominee prior to submission.
  • To ensure consistency among the nominations, submissions must include all components and not exceed the maximum number of pages for the nomination. 
  • CPHR Nova Scotia reserves the right to check the nominee's references.
  • CPHR Nova Scotia reserves the right to confirm the accuracy of the information provided.
  • CPHR Nova Scotia may contact nominees, or nominators, for clarification of information provided.
  • The panel of judges may select one or more award recipients in this category.
  • The judging panel is not required to accept all nominees as award recipients.
  • All recipients will be recognized at the awards celebration.
  • CPHR Nova Scotia reserves the right to not present awards in all categories each year, depending on the quality of the nominations received.
  • All decisions of the panel of judges relating to the awards will be final.

Complete the nomination form including Narrative Summary outlining how the nominee meets the award criteria by the deadline.
