Our workshop will walk you through these pieces and will leave you with actionable steps you can take to move in the direction of inclusivity. Let's grow together and move beyond the binary!

About the Facilitators


Shila LeBlanc (Shy-la, she/her)

Shila LeBlanc is a queer settler located in Kjipuktuk (Halifax, NS). She is a restorative practitioner and educator and is deeply invested in conflict resolution processes that center voice and choice. She is proud to support Legal Information NS in multiple projects connected to the queer community. Outside of this, she founded Restorative Approach and works with organizations to support them in repairing and strengthening their communities when conflict naturally arises. Her professional interests include restorative justice, reconciliation, treaty history, harm reduction, asset-based community development, and grassroots justice initiatives. You can find her at shila@restorativeapproach.ca.


Shae Morse
(they/them)

Shae Morse is a transgender non-binary middle school teacher who lives and works in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. They have been a 2SLGBTQIA+ community organizer and activist alongside their education career of 10 years. Shae specializes in providing training on inclusive gender and sexuality practices, bringing an interesting and engaging mix of lived experience and research-based findings to their sessions. Shae is passionate about building healthy communities for all despite present day challenges.
