CHRP Recertification Points: 1

Excessive absenteeism is one of the major challenges that HR professionals and managers face on a daily basis. Many HR Professionals and Managers are expected to work with associates to improve absenteeism but many times they have little to work with aside from the general nature of why an associate is absent.

On October 11, join Patti Card and Linda Kays as they share how the benefits of working with an Occupational Therapist can increase the success of an Attendance Management program. Case studies and an open discussion will follow the formal presentation.

Participants of this program will learn about:

  • Attendance issues experienced by a large contact centre in Atlantic Canada
  • Attendance issues related to medical reasons and the process of initiating Occupational Therapy in addressing and reducing employee absenteeism
  • Reducing risk of WCB claims using the ergonomic training program developed by the Occupational Therapy and Human Resource partnership
  • The Occupational Therapists role in return to work planning

Case studies will be used to demonstrate how Occupational Therapy involvement has helped reduce chronic absenteeism while helping link employees with appropriate care and rehabilitation services.
