Join us for an interactive half-day workshop on Attendance & Accommodation Management.  During this workshop participants will discuss the latest trends and statistics on workplace absenteeism and learn the following:

• Understanding the different treatment for innocent versus culpable absenteeism
• Appreciating that there are different types of absence, which require different responses
• Update on current attendance statistics and trends (provincial, regional, national, sector)
• How much is too much?
• When attendance is linked to the duty to accommodate
• Criteria for undue hardship
• From Absence to Attendance - shifting the emphasis

About the Speaker

Constance Robinson

Having worked in labour and employment law since 1992, Constance has been with HRA since 1998.  She has experience in the health, education, and government sectors as well as private and not-for-profit sectors.  A Certified Human Resources Professional, she holds a Master of Arts in Political Science with a specialization in Public Law (Calgary), as well as a law degree (Dalhousie).  Constance speaks at a wide variety of conferences on human resources, labour relations, and workplace privacy issues.  Constance is very interested in using methodologies that support evidenced-based decision making that are practical and meaningful and has trained in the TalOp methodology.  She is also on the PEI Business Women's Association Board of Directors, a member of the Canadian Association of Professional Access and Privacy Administrators (CAPAPA), and is on the steering committee for the Maritime Access & Privacy Workshop.

Payment Terms

Payment is due by the registration deadline which is Tuesday, April 23, 2013. Payments may be made conveniently online by credit card (Visa/MC) at the time of registration or by cheque received to the HRANS office by the registration deadline. Cheques (payable to Human Resources Association of Nova Scotia) must be received by the registration deadline (April 23) by HRANS at 84 Chain Lake Drive, Suite 103, Halifax, NS B3S 1A2.  Registrations April 18th or later must be paid by credit card with registration.

If paying by credit card (Visa/MC), you will be required to enter the billing address exactly as it appears on the credit card statement or the transaction will be declined.  This is a safety feature for your protection.  Please ensure that you have the address that appears on the credit card statement before attempting to pay online.

Cancellation Policy

A full refund, less a $25 administration fee (plus HST), will be issued for cancellations received in writing prior to Friday, April 12, 2013 at 12:00 noon. Those who make reservations and do not attend will be required to pay the full seminar fee. Cancellations received in writing prior to noon on Friday, April 12, 2013 will only be charged the administrative fee. Substitutions are permitted up to the day before the event.  Member/non-member rates will be applied to the substitutions. This cancellation policy applies regardless of date of registration. Registrations after the cancellation deadline are non-refundable.
