CHRP Recertification Points: 3 Recruiting 101 - Tips, Tools, and Techniques Join us for this interactive workshop that provides an overview of the full recruiting cycle. By participating in this session, you will learn tips, tools, and techniques that will increase your recruiting savvy and better prepare you to deliver on your next recruiting assignment. Whether you are part of a large recruiting team, or looking to improve your general knowledge of the recruiting function, this workshop is intended to increase your ability to recruit with confidence as well as provide you with practical applications that you can use immediately when you return to the office. Learning Objectives After attending Recruiting 101, you should be more confident to: - Pin that hiring manager down and gain commitment by making sure you get all the information you need to initiate the hiring process
- Be bold and innovative by channeling your inner sales and marketing persona to attract active and passive candidates
- Ride the recruiting FUNnel by effectively down streaming candidates during the hiring process
- Sharpen your interview abilities by using outcomes based interviewing techniques to find your star candidates
- Manage the art of the deal by leveraging your skills to sell, negotiate and close the deal (Hint - it's not always about the cash...or is it?)
- Overall, increase your general recruiting abilities and comfort level by finding and hiring better candidates faster, discovering why applicant control is so important, understanding the key things top recruiters do on every search, learning how to find the 'less active' candidates, and maximizing candidate quality while reducing cost and time to hire.
About the Facilitator Scott Boulton, CHRP, Human Resources Manager, Fleetway Inc. Scott Boulton is a graduate of St. Mary's University, a member of the Human Resources Association of Nova Scotia, and a Certified Human Resources Professional. His management and HR experience have come within the fields of marine engineering, contact centre, gaming and hospitality, and information technology. Scott has had the opportunity to provide Recruiting and HR solutions to organizations ranging in size from 50 to 5000 employees, including start-ups, giving him a unique perspective on what it is like to recruit for various sized organizations. He has also held recruiting roles in the agency world, as a sole HR practitioner, and as the Manager of an HR department - all of which has allowed him to experience the challenges that each of these roles present. When he isn't spending time being a Human Resources Manager, Scott enjoys being schooled in a 1:1 game of basketball with his daughter, mountain biking, and travelling with his family to Disneyworld. Cancellation Policy A full refund, less a $25+HST administration fee, will be issued for cancellations received in writing prior to Wednesday, September 11 at 12:00noon. Those who make reservations and do not attend will be required to pay for the full workshop fee. Cancellations received in writing prior to noon on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 will only be charged the administration fee. Substitutions are permitted up to the day prior to the event. Member/non-member rates will be applied to the substitutions. This cancellation policy applies regardless of date of registration. Registrations after the cancellation deadline are non-refundable.
