Mark your calendars for this half day session on Training and Development Programs That Get Results. As a Human Resources Professional, you are familiar with the request from business to find training courses for your organization. You spend hours trying to match the development need to the training course, managing the training budget, trying to determine the training ROI for your executives, only to see little change. Since the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results, it's time we look at what we can do to influence our organizations to create training and development programs that really work. This session will provide participants some pointers to help break the cycle. Participants will learn something about themselves, take some tangible ideas back to their organizations, tell a story or two, and have some fun along the way. Facilitator Anna Marenick, MBA, Director, Workforce Readiness, Irving Shipbuilding Inc. Anna has been with Irving Shipbuilding Inc. since 2009 and has recently assumed the role of Director, Workforce Readiness. Her areas of focus are Talent Management, Training and Development, and HR Transformation. Anna is originally from Antigonish and has a Bachelor of Arts from St. Francis Xavier University in Political Science and Sociology, and an MBA from Saint Mary's University. Anna is known for her direct communication style and can quickly get to the heart of issues. She is a trusted advisor to many, and provides a safe and supportive shoulder to lean on when needed. She also teaches part-time in the business faculty at the Nova Scotia Community College. Outside of work, Anna is involved in several organizations in a volunteer capacity. She is the member of three Boards of Directors: TEAMWork Cooperative, Techsploration (Board Secretary) and Dress for Success Halifax, where she is in her second year as President. Registration cannot be purchased at the door. Payment Terms Payment is due by the registration deadline of October 30, 2013. Payments may be made conveniently online by Visa/Mastercard at the time of registration or by cheque received by the registration deadline. Cheques must be received by the registration deadline (October 30) by HRANS at 84 Chain Lake Drive, Suite 103, Halifax, NS B3S 1A2. Registrations October 23 or later must be paid by Visa/MC at time of registration. If paying online by Visa or Mastercard, you must have the billing address exactly as it appears on the credit card statement or the transaction will be declined. This is a security feature for your protection. Cancellation Policy A full refund, less a $25+HST administration fee, will be issued for cancellations received in writing prior to Wednesday, October 23 at 12:00noon. Those who make reservations and do not attend will be required to pay for the full workshop fee. Cancellations received in writing prior to noon on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 will only be charged the administration fee. Substitutions are permitted up to the day prior to the event (for substitutions, the registrant must advise our office of their replacement in writing by the day prior to the event). Member/non-member rates will be applied to the substitutions. This cancellation policy applies regardless of date of registration. Registrations after the cancellation deadline are non-refundable.
