About the Panel Members Linda Hutchison, CHRP, Director, Human Resources with Clearwater Seafoods Limited Partnership Linda is a seasoned HR professional with over 20 years of extensive and diverse international experience in various industries including the Olympic Winter Games in Calgary, Cameco Mining Corporation in Saskatoon and Kyrgyzstan Central Asia, and Collicutt Energy Services in the Oil and Gas Industry in Alberta. She has been in the global seafood business with Clearwater Seafoods in Halifax since 2004. In her role, Linda is focussed at Clearwater in particular on leadership development and global HR issues including compensation and recruitment in Europe and China. She is on the Board of Advisors for AIESEC for global student leadership in Halifax and is a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP). Nick Beynon, CHRP, Corporate Services Manager, Admiral Insurance Nick is the Corporate Services Manager leading various departments at Admiral Insurance, including the Human Resources Department. Admiral Insurance is the UK's 3rd largest automobile insurance company employing over 6000 staff including 530 non-unionized employees locally in Halifax. Nick's HR team works tirelessly on staff engagement levels and large recruitment targets. As a result, they have been rewarded for their efforts through high placements in multiple employer of choice competitions including 'Best Workplaces in Canada' and 'Atlantic Canada's Top 25 Employers'. Nick is a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) and was awarded the 2009 HR Rising Star Award from the HR Summit Awards (HRPA) and was a finalist for HRANS' 2013 HR Award of Excellence. Brian G Johnston, Q.C., Partner Stewart McKelvey Brian is a Partner in the Halifax office of Stewart McKelvey. Through a wide ranging practice, Brian has acted as principal legal advisor to employers in virtually every industry and sector. Brian represents employers in court, before federal and provincial Labour Relations Boards, at arbitrations, as chief spokesperson in collective bargaining and in human rights proceedings. He is a regular contributor to Canadian Employment Law Today. Active in the community, he is a past Director of the Canadian Association of Counsel to Employers, Past Chair of the Board of Regents of Mount Allison University, and served the Canadian Bar Association in many capacities, including as President of its Nova Scotia branch. Recognized in the Lexpert Guide to the Top 500 Lawyers in Canada (2003-2006), recommended in the PLC "Which Lawyer?" Registration cannot be purchased at the door. Payment Terms Payment is due by the registration deadline of November 19, 2013. Payments may be made conveniently online by Visa/Mastercard at the time of registration or by cheque received by the registration deadline. Cheques must be received by the registration deadline (November 19) by HRANS at 84 Chain Lake Drive, Suite 103, Halifax, NS B3S 1A2. Registrations November 12th or later must be paid by Visa/MC at time of registration. If paying online by Visa or Mastercard, you must have the billing address exactly as it appears on the credit card statement or the transaction will be declined. This is a security feature for your protection. Cancellation Policy A full refund, less a $25+HST administration fee, will be issued for cancellations received in writing prior to Tuesday, November 12 at 12:00noon. Those who make reservations and do not attend will be required to pay for the full fee. Cancellations received in writing prior to noon on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 will only be charged the administration fee. Substitutions are permitted up to 12 noon the day before the event (for substitutions, the registrant must advise our office of their replacement in writing before 12 noon on Monday Nov 25th). Member/non-member rates will be applied to the substitutions. This cancellation policy applies regardless of date of registration. Registrations after the cancellation deadline are non-refundable.
