As Human Resources Professionals, chances are we have or will have pension administration in our portfolio at some point in our careers, or we will have to help employees understand how pensions work as part of their overall compensation package. Pension management has received more attention in the last number of years than ever before. Human Resources plays an important role in ensuring the right messages are getting to our employees. This session will provide foundational knowledge on the types of pension plans and the trend towards Defined Contribution plans, effective ways to communicate plans to employees to increase understanding, and the importance of ensuring proper oversight within an organization. The registration deadline is Thursday, January 2, 2014, at 12:00 noon. Please note that registrations are not possible after online registration has closed. Registration cannot be purchased at the door. Payment Terms Payment is due by the registration deadline of January 2, 2014. Payments may be made conveniently online by Visa/Mastercard at the time of registration or by cheque received by the registration deadline. Cheques must be received by the registration deadline (January 2) by HRANS at 84 Chain Lake Drive, Suite 103, Halifax, NS B3S 1A2. Registrations December 12th or later must be paid by Visa/MC at time of registration. If paying online by Visa or Mastercard, you must have the billing address exactly as it appears on the credit card statement or the transaction will be declined. This is a security feature for your protection. Cancellation Policy A full refund, less a $25+HST administration fee, will be issued for cancellations received in writing prior to Monday, December 16 at 12:00noon. Those who make reservations and do not attend will be required to pay for the full session fee. Cancellations received in writing prior to noon on Monday, December 16, 2013 will only be charged the administration fee. Substitutions are permitted up to the business day before the event (for substitutions, the registrant must advise our office of their replacement in writing by 12 noon on January 8th). Member/non-member rates will be applied to the substitutions. This cancellation policy applies regardless of date of registration. Registrations after the cancellation deadline are non-refundable.
