HR Competency: Labour and Employee Relations
Positive union management relations is more than just a state of being; it's a process or system that leaders commit to supporting and is demonstrated rather than spoken. In today's changing workplaces, unions and management must work together to establish these processes that can be continuously improved upon and cultivated by all.
Union management relationships are often referred to as a marriage - when in fact it is more of a love triangle. Understanding the various aspects that make up union management relationships is the key to finding the system that will work best for your organization.
