HR Competency:  Health, Wellness, and Safe Workplace

Join your colleagues for the HRANS Fall Dinner.  The Fall Dinner is an excellent opportunity to network and share with your fellow HR Professionals and Leaders.

WCB NS CEO Stuart MacLean is a passionate safety champion with an unwavering passion for preventing workplace injury and supporting a safe and timely return to work when injury occurs.  This session will discuss with progress that's been made over the past five years to reduce the impact of workplace injury and how Nova Scotia's Workplace Safety Strategy is fostering new levels of collaboration and helping to build a stronger culture of workplace safety.  The session will also discuss the challenges and the strategies that will be needed over the next several years in order to make Nova Scotia one of the safest places to work in Canada.

Participants will learn about the key role that Human Resources professionals and leaders can play to prevent workplace injuries and to help injured workers make a safe and timely return to the workplace.  Participants will further build their knowledge through learning, from a Senior HR Leader's perspective, about her work leading a province-wide injury prevention program for healthcare, Soteria Strains.  Soteria is supported by a multi-organization partnership and is focused on preventing musculoskeletal injury, the most common injury type in the healthcare sector.
